Bruce Channel wrote it in 1959 and, finally, recorded it in 1962.  Not long after, it was sitting on the top of Billboard's pop charts.  Its name was "Hey Baby" and it was the number 8 song in the top 100 of the year 1962.

15-year-old Rosie Hamlin of Rosie & The Originals sang the lead to "Angel Baby" in 1960.  It peaked at number 5 on Billboard's pop charts.

"Angie Baby" was brought to Cher in 1973 and she refused it.  Helen Reddy recorded it and it went to the top of the charts where it held that position for 2 weeks in 1974.

Brian Wilson referred to "Be My Baby" as "the best pop song of all time, hands down!"  Rolling Stone Magazine only slightly disagreed, ranking it as the number 22 record of all time.  Billboard had it on top its charts for 3 weeks in 1963 and rated it the number 24 song of 1963.  It was recorded by The Ronettes.

Dion asked "Ruby, Ruby when will you be mine?" and then answered, "Sometime!" This was part of the verbiage in his top 10 hit named "Ruby Baby" which he released in 1963.

A one-hit wonder named First Class had a number 4 hit in 1974 with "Beach Baby."  Tony Burrows, formerly of the group White Plains, was the lead singer.

Ricky Nelson's "Be-Bop Baby" peaked at number 3 in 1957.  It was Rick's second hit record coming after his cover of Fats Domino's "I'm Walkin'."

LaDonna Adrian Gaines, who is better known as Donna Sumers got to number 2 in 1976 with "Love to Love You Baby."

"(You're) Having My Baby" was written by Paul Anka.  Though it is known as a Paul Anka record, it was actually sung by Paul Anka and Odia Coates.  It was a number 1 song in 1974 and the number 4 song for the year 1974.  Paul Anka wrote his first number 1 song in 1957.  It was called "Lonely Boy."

Of course, it was Smokey Robinson singing the lead on The Miracles' top 20 hit from 1965, "Ooh! Baby Baby."

"Don't Worry Baby" received a lot of airplay in1964 and is a heavily requested oldie today.  However, it never had a chart position of its own, as it was the flip side of The Beach Boys' "I Get Around."  "I Get Around" was the number 1 song for 2 weeks in 1964.

From Memphis, Tennessee, The Box Tops peaked at number 2 in 1969 with "Cry Like a Baby" which was a follow up to their big number 1 hit, "The Letter."

In 1963, The Cookies peaked at number 7 with "Don't Say Nothin' Bad About My Baby."  The Cookies were a prelude to Ray Charles' back up group, The Raelettes.

The 4 Seasons peaked at number 12 in 1965 with "Bye Bye Baby (Baby Goodbye)."

In 1970, the group White Plains peaked at number 9 with "My Baby Loves Lovin'."  Here's that guy Tony Burrows again.  He sang with First Class ("Beach Baby"), Edison Lighthouse ("Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes") as well as White Plains.

Truly an almost overnight success, Tommy James & The Shondells had the number 1 song for 2 weeks and the number 15 song of the year in 1966 with "My Baby Does the Hanky Panky."

"Baby It's You" was a number 8 song in 1962 for The Shirelles and a very popular album cut from The Beatles' "Please Please Me" album, but it was the rock group Smith that drove it to number 3 in 1969.

Barbara Lewis got up to number 11 in 1965 with "Baby I'm Yours."  In 1963, she peaked at number 3 with her hit record "Hello Stranger."

The Supremes had an incredible run of 10 out of 12 of their releases going to number 1 on Billboard's pop charts!  This string included the first 6 of these 12 records going all the way to number 1!  The second of these 6 songs was "Baby Love." It was the number 4 song for the year 1964 and it was the only Supremes' song to be a number 1 song in the U.K.

Way back in 1961, long before The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, there was a group who played their own instruments, which included guitars and a drum.  Amazingly, one of the members of this group was named Jager!  They were The Echoes.  They had a song named "Baby Blue," and it peaked at number 12 in 1961.  The members of the group, at one time, were Tommy Morrison, Harry Boyle and Joe Jager.  In the song they spelled out "Baby Blue" by singing; b-a-b-b-y b-b-l-u-e.  That's why they were The Echoes, I guess.

Sonny & Cher peaked at number 8 in 1965 with "Baby Don't Go."  It was written, of course, by Sonny Bono.

Van Morrison  sang the lead in 1965 for a group named Them.  "Baby Please Don't Go" was a top 40 hit for Them.

"Baby Come Back" was the number 1 song for 3 weeks in 1978 and it was the number 7 song of the year 1978.  It was recorded by Player.

Many times, Dan Ingram, the great disc jockey from 77 WABC, New York introduced this song as "Baby I'm a One Shoe."  Its real name was "Baby I'm-a Want You."  It was recorded by Bread and peaked number 3 in 1971.

He was once known only as a songwriter whose claim to fame was composing "In the Ghetto" which became a big hit for Elvis.  Now he is known as a superb singer, songwriter and actor.  His biggest hit, which he wrote, was "Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me." From Lubbock, Texas, his name is Mack Davis.

In 1961, Connie Francis had a top 40 hit with "Baby's First Christmas."
